Everyone’s invited to Somersett on Saturday, June 6th for the community’s 2nd Annual Poker Hike in celebration of National Trails Day. The event is free and open to the public.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the Poker Hike begins at 8:30 a.m. for the 2-mile moderate route on Somersett’s Canyon Loop and Silver Willow Trails. Hikers will collect cards form seven different stations along the trail. The best 5-card hand will win a $100 gift card to the Roundabout Bistro and a Flight of Wine from Whispering Vine. Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome, but no strollers, please. Hikers should wear sturdy shoes.
After the hike, participants and non-hikers are invited to the Town Square to enjoy music, water and fresh fruit beginning at 10 a.m. Food and drink specials will also be available at Roundabout Bistro and Whispering Vine. The winner of the Poker Hike will be announced at 11:15 a.m.
The event is free to attend and open to the public. Travel I-80 to the Robb Drive exit and turn left on Sharland’s Avenue. Sharlands turns into Somersett Parkway. Turn into the Town Square at the 2nd roundabout and follow the event signs to The Club at Town Center.
