Reno, NV, March 5, 2008 —All are welcome to Somersett’s 2nd Annual Recycle-Palooza on Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The free event is open to the public and will take place at the Somersett Club at Town Center. Attendees will have an opportunity to receive FREE compact florescent light bulbs from NV Energy (6 per household, while supplies last.)
New 2 U Computers will accept computers, monitors, ink jet and laser printers, components, cell phones, PDAs, software, fax machines, VCRs, Stereos, radios and telephones for recycling. Televisions will not be recycled at this event. Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful will be on hand with recycling information and paper making. Lions Club will accept eye glasses for recycle. Interpretive Gardens will distribute information on sustainable practices and year-round organic gardening. Kiwanis will accept bicycles for refurbishment. UNR’s Cooperative Extension Horticulture Department will demonstrate composting and worm farming. The event will also be attended by Nevada Econet, and the City of Reno. Somersett will collect specific printer cartridges and a full list of cartridges can be found at www.somersett.com .
Somersett Town Square, the retail and office complex adjacent to the Club at Town Center, is a LEED certified building as defined by the U.S. Green Building Council. Recycle-Palooza will also offer information on the Town Square, what makes it a green building and how this benefits the tenants of the building.
To visit the Somersett Club at Town Center, take I-80 to Robb Drive exit and turn left on Sharlands Avenue. Sharlands turns into Somersett Parkway and leads into the community. Turn in at the second roundabout and The Club at Town Center is straight ahead.
