RECYCLE-PALOOZA GEARS UP AT SOMERSETT
Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30, 2008
March 19, 2008

Reno, NV, March 14, 2008 ‹ The west Reno community of Somersett
is preparing for an event that will work to lessen its footprint on the
earth. All are welcome to Somersettıs Recycle-Palooza that is set to take
place on Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30, 2008. The event is from 11
a.m. to 2 p.m. and will take place at the Somersett Club at Town Center. The
event is free and the theme is definitely green. Attendees will have an
opportunity to participate in a light bulb exchange, sponsored by Sierra
Pacific Power Company. This will allow people to bring in the traditional
light bulbs they have in their homes and exchange them for 60-watt
energy-efficient ones, while supplies last. Each household can bring up to
eight bulbs to exchange. Sierra Pacific Power Company will also be giving a
³Living Greener² lecture on Saturday at 11 a.m. that will offer everyday
solutions to energy efficiency and green living. Energy Educator
information will be available as well, teaching people how to save energy in
their own homes.

Reno City Councilman Dave Aiazzi will be giving a short talk at noon on
Saturday. He will focus on the Cityıs efforts to go green.

Recycling opportunities during the event are extensive. New 2 U Computers,
benefiting Disability Resources, offers recycling for computers, monitors,
computer components, laptops, cables, software, scanners, speakers, server
equipment, fax machines, inkjet and laser printers, VCRs, stereos, radios,
cell phones, PDAs, telephone systems and video game equipment. Working and
non-working items are accepted.

Pinky Pinkıs Ink will be on hand recycling toner and inkjet cartridges to
benefit local schools. They accept both new and empty cartridges. Kiwanis
will be accepting used bicycles that they refurbish for children in need in
the Reno/Sparks area. Lions Club is also offering a recycling program for
eyeglasses.

Roundabout Market will be offering lunch specials. Coffee and drink
specials will be available at Whispering Vine Wine and Coffee Company. Both
of these businesses are located in the Somersett Town Square, which is the
first green retail and office complex of its kind in northern Nevada. The
Somersett Town Square has been built to qualify for gold LEED certification
as defined by the U.S. Green Building Council. Recycle-Palooza will also
offer information on the Town Square, what makes it a green building and how
this benefits the tenants of the building.

To get to the Somersett Club at Town Center, take I-80 to Robb
Drive exit and turn left on Sharlands Avenue. Sharlands turns into
Somersett Parkway and leads into the community. Turn in at the second
roundabout and The Club at Town Center is straight ahead. Additional
