Pressbox > Here's an easy new way to throw a charity tournament!
Reno, NV, March 30, 2007 Most people that have been involved with fundraising efforts can agree that it can be challenging to stay focused on the goal, which is to raise money for your charity or non-profit organization. It can be a daunting task to put together an event that is efficient enough to bring those much needed dollars to those that need them.
The Canyon Nine at Somersett has put together a fundraising package that serves this need in a simple but very fun way. Most days, the Canyon Nine is a Tom Kite designed, 9-hole par-3 golf course that is exclusive to the residents of Somersett. Groups that would like to host a nine-hole tournament on the course can do so with a minimum of 20 participants to play at a designated time. Each player would pay an entry fee of $30 which includes the 9 hole green fee, a Canyon Nine golf hat, Canyon Nine score card, Canyon Nine divot repair tool, Somersett bottled water and a coupon for a free hot dog and fountain drink! The best part is that the non-profit organization gets to keep $10 for each person that plays. This makes for a fun, turn-key golf tournament without the logistical issues that usually come with a similar event.
Interested organizations should contact Dan Rooney, Somersett golf services coordinator at drooney@somersett.com or 787-4500 ext, 327 at least two weeks before theyd like to play. The Canyon Nine is available for these events Monday through Saturday, based on availability.
