Somersett Development Company has accomplished a great deal over the past few years with just over 1,400 houses sold in the master planned golf community, the development in west Reno is almost half way to the build-out goal of 3,300 homes. The variety and scope of amenities already available in this young community are vast. The Club at Town Center, has been completed for 2 years and is an impressive nine-million dollar facility. The 24,000 square foot interior offers a beautiful great room, an indoor sports court, an aerobic studio, cardio-weight studio, massage room and locker rooms with sauna. Families have access to a kid's club, teen club, and an arts and crafts studio. The outdoor amenities include two pools (one with a 98-ft. waterslide), two spas, fire pit, two tennis courts and a cabana snack bar. The Canyon Nine 3-par golf course is also complete and open to all Somersett residents. Somersett Country Club is close to half way to full membership capacity and the 18-hole championship course designed by Tom Kite has quickly become a northern Nevada jewel. Named one of Golfweek's top residential courses, Somersett Country Club has already begun to find its distinction nationwide. Somersett Country Club was also named in Reno Magazine's Best of Reno Issue, which lists 101 reasons that Reno is a great place to live. With so much completed already it is hard to imagine that more is to come. A new shopping plaza in the community, the Town Center, is under construction and is due to open in summer of 2007, with a unique mix of shops, restaurants and services. The final touches are being placed on the 27 miles of hiking and biking trails intertwined throughout the community offering staggering views of the landscape and mountains. Two city parks are also being added to the community. A new City of Reno, Somersett Fire Station is under construction and is set to open by the end of 2007. There is also a second entrance planned into Somersett on the west side of the community bringing the number of access points into the community to four. On the new home front, Somersett is the largest model home tour in the area with homes from award winning builders including Del Webb, HomeCrafters, McCaffrey Fine Homes, Meritage Homes, Monterey Development Group, Northcliff, Pulte Homes, Ryder Homes, SilverStar, and Toll Brothers. There are over 35 model opens open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eight new model homes from Pulte Homes in the neighborhood, The Vue, were just unveiled as an incredible value offering of Somersett. "Buyers that move to Somersett in this second phase can take advantage of all of the community amenities from day one," said managing partner, Blake Smith. "It's like getting in on the ground level, with all of the benefits of a completed master planned golf community at the same time." Model home tour maps are available at the Welcome Center every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Welcome Center is located inside the Club at Town Center facility so home seekers can check out one of the primary Somersett amenities before they visit the models.
